Hi Y'all, it's been like 42 years ago?
But recall being hired as one of the Security Team in 1982. What I
recall was the amazing location near the ocean on Brigantine
beach, especially when those real, occasional thunderstorms
would come and match the recorded sounds inside made it so real.
At that time, I had recently returned home to New Jersey from my
US Navy time. I used to have a shirt and jacket from there I wore
working at that location. Especially at nights it was a
really amazing time. I wish someone would rebuild it as can you
imagine the visitation it would get? Put the old history of the
first one on a plaque, tell that history and how they are
connected. Anyone have an old jacket available to obtain?
One of the best places I ever worked at, miss it too.

I was 9
years old and when my family visited the Castle in 1977. I
remember the commercials well, we lived in Nazareth PA and begged
our parents to take us. Our annual vacation was Seaside Heights,
but this was the one year we went somewhere else. For whatever
reason I wasn’t afraid of haunted houses, I knew they weren’t
real and found them funny. My sisters were a different story. To
be honest, I remember very few specifics, other than a large
spiral stair case and Dracula coming out of the picture. The one
vivid memory I have was when they stopped us to wait before going
into the rat room. My older sister feared this part more than any.
I was first in line and remember the actor asking me how old I
was, told him I was 9 and he said if you want to turn 10 don’t
go in there. lol. I remember being a bit disappointed with the rat
room, styrofoam hitting your legs and fake cages. My sister and
mom were losing it, so I had fun with that. Those years were the
best times of my life and I would do anything to go back.
